Lesson Study
An important aspect of teaching is constant research and reflection upon one’s practice and teaching experiences. Here I have highlighted several lesson study reflections that I have done on my own and with colleagues. Also, I have included some professional writing that I have done on my teaching as well as inquiry into my own practice.

Math Lesson Study
This lesson highlights how using literature can help students make math connections more clear. After reflecting on the first lesson, I collaborated with a team to revise and reteach the lesson.

Social Studies Lesson Study
This lesson study integrated writing with social studies concepts and provided a close look at changes that could be made in a social studies lesson with a team teaching approach.

Language Arts Journal Article
This is a journal article I wrote reflecting on a mental images unit that I taught. It was submitted for publication to a Michigan language arts magazine.

This science inquiry looked at how I could involve more students in classroom discussions to better assess student understanding. I conducted professional research, implemented several strategies, and collected data and their effectiveness.
